We kick off a Marvelous May with Pop-Up Comedy Jam on Tuesday, May 1! Our stand-up special guest at Cafe Deux Soleils is the exceptional Ed Hill!

Ed was voted “Best Vancouver Comedian” by WestEnder and The Georgia Straight, and named “Comic to Watch” by Canadian Immigrant Magazine. He has appeared on AXS TV’s “Gotham Comedy Live”, “Laughs” on FOX, TED talks, Bite TV’s “Stand Up & Bite Me”, and XM Radio’s “Laugh Attack”. He was also invited to perform at the JFL Northwest, Comedy Masala in Singapore, Live Comedy Club in Taiwan, the Hong Kong Comedy Festival, NXNE, San Francisco Comedy Festival, and many more.

Ed’s tweets have also been featured on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, Buzzfeed, The Huffington Post, DOSE, and Distractify!

We’re excited to have Ed bring the funny to Cafe Deux Soleils during Pop-Up Comedy Jam, and we invite you to join the fun too! Hot Improv Tuesdays on May 1 starts at 8 pm (doors at 7:30 pm), and tickets are just $7 or $5 for students!

Impro Allegro welcomes poet and musician Jess Tollestrup for a comedy mashup on January 23

Laughter is music for the soul! Come enjoy the best of both worlds on January 23 when we welcome Jess Tollestrup to Improv X Music aka Impro Allegro at Cafe Deux Soleils!

Jess Tollestrup is a travelling musician and poet currently based out of Vancouver. They had a busy and successful 2017, including the release of their debut EP “The Pluto Year” and chapbook “Metafesto”, receiving a scholarship for the Hornby Island Blues Workshop, touring from Victoria to Peterborough, and performing poetry on a national and international stage.

At the Edmonton Fringe Festival in August, Jess performed with comedy troupe “Sorry Not Sorry” for their three shows, including a heart-wrenching gut-busting 5-day completely improvised DnD campaign.

We’re teaming up with Jess for a variety of musical games and improv formats on January 23, and you’re invited to join the fun at Cafe Deux Soleils! Doors at 7:30 pm, and The Comedy Mashup Show starts at 8 pm. Tickets just $7 or $5 for students.
