Danika Thibault brings stand-up flair to Pop-Up Comedy Jam on Tuesday, January 8

The Fictionals’ first show of 2019 is Pop-Up Comedy Jam on Tuesday, January 8 at Cafe Deux Soleils! Joining us for the Improv & Stand-Up Mashup this month is Danika Thibault!

Danika started doing stand-up because she needed something interesting to put in her Tinder bio below “loves tacos and rosé!” She has appeared on shows all over Vancouver, including spots at Yuk Yuks, Lafflines, Comedy Basement, Fox Hole Comedy, Life Is Funny, and more. Danika is also a passionate storyteller who has written for publications like BC Living, BC Business, and TV Week.

Danika’s stand-up will inspire our improvisers, and your suggestions will also kick off our scenes! So come start your new year the funny way! Hot Improv Tuesdays on January 8 starts at 8 pm (doors at 7:30 pm), and tickets are just $7 or $5 for students!

Lydia Rickards joins Pop-Up Comedy Jam on Tuesday, December 4 at Cafe Deux Soleils

Pop-Up Comedy Jam kicks off a Delightful December at Cafe Deux Soleils with the Improv & Stand-Up Mashup on Tuesday, December 4! Our stand-up special guest this month is the hilarious Lydia Rickards!

Lydia Rickards has performed all over the world, including Fringe World Festival in Perth, the Adelaide Fringe Festival, and various UK festivals. She was shortlisted in the the BBC New Comedy Award on BBC Radio 4 and was a semi-finalist in the 2018 Yuk Off at Yuk Yuks. Lydia has been in Canada for almost a year and is the current Undercard Champion at Roast Battle Vancouver.

Pop-Up Comedy Jam welcomes Ola Dada to Cafe Deux Soleils on November 6

Pop-Up Comedy Jam returns to Cafe Deux Soleils for the Improv & Stand-Up Mashup on Tuesday, November 6! Our special guest this month is the outstanding Ola Dada!

Ola Dada

Accounting student by day and comedian by night, Ola Dada is a Nigerian-Canadian raised in Alberta who examines comparisons between both cultures. With a unique take on what its like to also live in Vancouver, Ola takes his audience on a trip through his challenges, and highlights the comedic aspects of each situation. He is a regular host at The Comedy Basement and has performed on stand-up stages all over Vancouver.
