The Fictionals and Distress Signal join forces for Improv X Sketch on June 26 at Cafe Deux Soleils

Comedy worlds combine on June 26 when The Fictionals and Distress Signal team up for Hot Improv Tuesdays at Cafe Deux Soleils! The two companies will showcase their individual talents, then team-up for an Improv X Sketch form!

Distress Signal Comedy

Distress Signal was created from the weird zany mind of Connor Nechelput and the upright posture of Kenneth Tynan. Their follow-up to their debut show, “Our Mortal Coil”, explores the future with Future Sex, Cyborgs, & Science. Their brand of comedy will keep you guessing and guarantees a good time for all!

Onstage for Distress Signal at Cafe Deux Soleils are:

Juliana has been acting since the age of six, in both her home country of Brazil, and in Canada. A lover of the stage, Juliana graduated from the John Abbott College Professional Theatre Program in Montreal. Her past roles include Hermia/Snout/Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Nava in the PK Studio Productions short Pass the Salt. When she ain’t sick, she’s crying over puppies.

Travis Friday

Travis Friday

Travis is a local actor, writer and producer from Richmond. He’s been a part of some great productions, such as Psychopomp & Circumstance and Like Psycho Like Son. Currently he’s in the process of producing short films, but he hopes to make you laugh as much as his parents did when he told them he wanted to be an actor.

Ricardo Cunha Pequenino

Ricardo Cunha Pequenino

Ricardo was born a rolling stone. In the evenings he’d cry mama in improv classes in high school – which made for some bohemian rhapsodys. One time he and his graduating Class of improvers went to second city Toronto to take some classes and watch a second city show. Ricardo used to lead multiple improv games in kids camps, practice improv in Prairie Theatre exchange and lastly did some improv exercises in Vancouver Film School.

Kwasi Thomas

Kwasi Thomas

Comedian. Actor. Sweet love maker. His journey of laughter brought him from Montreal to Vancouver. Vancouver to Vegas, and back again. He has represented Montreal at the Just for Laughs Homegrown Stand Up Comedy Competition as well as featured in Vancouver filmed television shows such as “Altered Carbon” and “Green Berets Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse.” As many other successful Canadian humorists, Kwasi lives below a Quiznos on 4th and Main. “It’s rent controlled, and I get all the sesame seeds they don’t use”.
