Comedy worlds collide at Cafe Deux Soleils on December 5 when stand-up star Katie-Ellen Humphries joins us for Pop-Up Comedy Jam!

Katie-Ellen Humphries has performed at festivals all over North America, including Just For Laughs NorthWest, The Bridgetown Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, The Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival, and Pemberton Music Fest. She has also appeared on multiple tv shows, including “The Funny Pit” (CMT), “She Kills Me” (APTN), The Winnipeg Comedy Fest “Food, Glorious Food” Gala (CBC), “Morgan Brayton & Other People” (OUT-TV), “The Debaters” (CBC Radio), and The Ha!ifax Comedy Festival (CBC).

We’re honoured to have Katie-Ellen join us for our Improv & Stand-Up Mashup, and you’re all invited too! Hot Improv Tuesdays  on December 5 starts at 8 pm (doors at 7:30 pm), and tickets are just $7 or $5 for students!

The Fictionals defend the Cagematch title at Instant Theatre on November 19

Ring the bell and drop the gloves! The Fictionals are back at Havana Theatre on Sunday, November 19 to defend their Cagematch title with Instant Theatre!

Three groups enter Cagematch to showcase their unique brand of longform improv. Daniel Chai, Rachel Kent, Alex Parra and Mitch Boliszchuk perform Impro Allegro, comedy songs inspired by our audience, with your votes deciding who returns!

Improv gets intimate and interactive on November 21 when comic book writer, podcaster and comedian Ian Boothby joins us for Ask Me Anything at Cafe Deux Soleils!

Ian Boothby is a Canadian Comedy Award-winning sketch performer, improviser and writer for CBC’s The Irrelevant Show, The Simpsons comic book, Mad Magazine and a cartoon writer for The New Yorker. Ian is the creator of the improv shows Write Club, Sword Play, The X-Mas Files and co-creator of the Jessie Award winning Free Willie Shakespeare. He is the co-creator of the Sneaky Dragon Podcat and Comic Books Live, and improvises with the Critical Hit Show!

Ian was our very first special guest at  Hot Improv Tuesdays back in 2010, and we’re excited to have him join us as we celebrate our anniversary month! Doors at 7:30 pm, show at 8:00 pm, and tickets just $7 or $5 for students!
