One of our favourite annual events returns to Cafe Deux Soleils on Tuesday, November 13 when UBC Improv and Trinity Western’s 11:07 face off in Vancouver Improv Fight Club at 8 pm! University Wars VI features #HardcoreHilarity from some of the hottest up-and-coming improvisers, and we need your suggestions to fuel the funny!
UBC Improv has been performing at the University of British Columbia and around Vancouver since 1999. They perform regularly in Scarfe 100 lecture hall, and at events and parties all around campus. UBC Improv alumni include members of Instant Theatre, Grad School Improv, The Sunday Service and Hip.Bang, and Blind Tiger!
UBCi will be represented by: Jana Rankov, Aidan Olley, Fiona Jenkins, Erin Purghart, and An-Te Chu.
11:07 Improv has performed improv comedy at Trinity Western University for over 30 years, and can be seen on alternate Friday nights in the Freedom Hall at 11:07 pm. With a roster of about 20 undergraduate students from various academic departments, 11:07 has become a staple of the student experience at TWU. Their alumni have gone on to perform with Vancouver TheatreSports League, Instant Theatre, and The Panic Squad.
11:07 represented by: Emmett Hanly, Corinna Scholing, Monica Rawlek Elizondo, Becca Carsience and Connor Thiessen.
Two teams, one mission: to walk away as Vancouver Improv Fight Club champions. At the end of the annual University showdown – featuring long-form improv and classic short form challenges – it will be audience votes that decide who is victorious! So come decide for yourself!
Doors at 7:30 pm, Show at 8 pm. Tickets $7 or $5 for students at the door, and seating is first come, first served. All part of Hot Improv Tuesdays at Cafe Deux Soleils!
