Storyteller Susan Cormier joins us at Cafe Deux Soleils on March 19 for Improv + Storytelling!

Every month we invite Vancouver’s finest storytellers to Cafe Deux Soleils to tell tales during Improv + Storytelling. Joining us on March 19 is the stupendous Susan Cormier!

Multimedia artist Susan Cormier has won or been shortlisted for such writing awards as CBC’s National Literary Award, Arc Magazine’s Poem of the Year, and the Federation of B.C. Writers’ Literary Writes. She has been artist-in-attendance at Calgary’s herland feminist film festival, a founding editor of Rain City Review magazine, and a Western Canada representative on the SlamAmerica national performance poetry tour. Her current projects include beekeeping and selling honey; producing the Short Story Show podcast; and producing Canada’s longest-running live storytelling competition, the Vancouver Story Slam.

Storyteller Al Lafrance joins us at Cafe Deux Soleils on February 19 for Show & Tell Comedy!

Every month we invite Vancouver’s finest storytellers to Cafe Deux Soleils to tell tales during Show & Tell Comedy. Joining us for our improv mashup on February 19 is the amazing Al Lafrance!

Al Lafrance

Al Lafrance is part-human, part-demon, and an acclaimed storyteller. He’s performed at over 30 fringe festivals around the world, at Just For Laughs, and in strangers’ backyards. He recently enjoyed a sold-out run of his solo show “I Think I’m Dead” at the Vancouver Fringe. He is also the co-creator of Hunch: A Festival of Solo Performances, was recently part of Theatre Under The Gun, and is a member of The Dive, an hour-long live scripted monthly sitcom.

Storyteller TJ Dawe joins us at Cafe Deux Soleils on January 22 for Show & Tell Comedy!

New year means a new show added to our Hot Improv Tuesdays lineup at Cafe Deux Soleils: Show & Tell Comedy! Every month we invite Vancouver’s finest storytellers to TELL tales at CDS, with the improvisers SHOWing us how they’re inspired by the stories with scenes made up on the spot. First up on January 22: the terrific TJ Dawe!

TJ Dawe is a writer, director and performer of new theatre, mostly autobiographical monologues. He’s been in more than a hundred theatre festivals across Canada and abroad, sharing stories about shitty jobs, unrequited love, ayahuasca, teenage pranks, panic attacks, breathwork, BC Ferries, and the Enneagram. TJ teaches a course on how to create solo shows at Langara, which is happening right now. He and his partner will be doing a two day workshop on creativity March 16 and 17.

TJ co-wrote and directed the off-Broadway hit, One Woman Sex and the City starring Kerry Ipema, directed Charlie Ross in The One Man Star Wars Trilogy and One Man Lord of the Rings, and had his play Toothpaste and Cigars adapted into the 2013 feature film The F Word starring Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan.
