Improv Against Humanity – The Original!

So it appears that there have been some other Improv Against Humanity shows popping up around North America lately. While we of course support our comedic brethren and send them our heartiest “Break Legs” for the success of their shows, we really have only one thing to say:

Improv Against Humanity moving to The Rio Theatre!

Are you twisted enough to be crowned Vancouver’s Most Horrible Person? The Fictionals Comedy Co. are bringing their hit interactive comedy show IMPROV AGAINST HUMANITY to The Rio Theatre starting on Wednesday, June 19th. Inspired and officially endorsed by the popular party game Cards Against Humanity, IMPROV AGAINST HUMANITY brings to life some of the most bizarre comedy creations ever to be showcased in front of an audience. From Harry Potter Erotica to A Windmill Full of Corpses, nothing is off limits for IMPROV AGAINST HUMANITY.

According to Daniel Chai, creator of IMPROV AGAINST HUMANITY and producer/co-founder of The Fictionals, the show is moving to The Rio Theatre after selling out the smaller-sized Cafe Deux Soleils for half a year. (The Fictionals also perform at Cafe Deux Soleils every Tuesday night with a rotating lineup of improv shows.)

“I’ve been absolutely blown away by the success of IMPROV AGAINST HUMANITY,” said Daniel. “We’ve had people arrive hours early to get the best seats, audience members sending in fan art; it’s really taken off. That’s why we’re excited to move to the larger Rio Theatre, where we can grow the show to be even bigger and better than it is now.”

One of the big draws of IMPROV AGAINST HUMANITY is the fact that audience members can submit their name to play Cards Against Humanity live onstage for a chance to win amazing prizes, plus be crowned Vancouver’s Most Horrible Person for an entire month. The live Cards Against Humanity competition directs what scenes will be played out for the audience, so each show is brand new and entirely improvised.
