Vancouver Improv Fight Club welcomes Sophie Buddle to Cafe Deux Soleils on July 9

Vancouver Improv Fight Club returns to Cafe Deux Soleils on July 9 for another edition of Hardcore Hilarity! Joining us for a special guest stand-up set is the talented Sophie Buddle!

Sophie Buddle has been featured at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, JFL42 in Toronto, and JFLNorthwest in Vancouver. She has appeared on CBC’s The Debaters, is a writer for This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and was runner-up in the biggest comedy competition in Canada – SiriusXM’s Top Comic. She recently released her debut album, A Little Bit Of Buddle, and is creator and host of the podcast, Obsessed with Sophie Buddle.

Sophie will perform a stand-up set that will inspire our two VIFC teams for their long-form sets! Also onstage for #HardcoreHilarity are Alan Pavlakovic, Rachel Kent, Daniel Chai, and Megan Phillips versus Ashlee Ferral, Matthew Simmons, William Vaughan, and Aida Viziru. Jeff Cooper will be referee and host.

Hot Improv Tuesdays on July 9 starts at 8 pm (doors at 7:30 pm), and tickets are just $7 or $5 for students!

Storyteller Susan Cormier joins us at Cafe Deux Soleils on March 19 for Improv + Storytelling!

Every month we invite Vancouver’s finest storytellers to Cafe Deux Soleils to tell tales during Improv + Storytelling. Joining us on March 19 is the stupendous Susan Cormier!

Multimedia artist Susan Cormier has won or been shortlisted for such writing awards as CBC’s National Literary Award, Arc Magazine’s Poem of the Year, and the Federation of B.C. Writers’ Literary Writes. She has been artist-in-attendance at Calgary’s herland feminist film festival, a founding editor of Rain City Review magazine, and a Western Canada representative on the SlamAmerica national performance poetry tour. Her current projects include beekeeping and selling honey; producing the Short Story Show podcast; and producing Canada’s longest-running live storytelling competition, the Vancouver Story Slam.

Dyck Spacee takes on Vancouver Improv Fight Club on March 12 at Cafe Deux Soleils

Knockout punchlines are flying at Cafe Deux Soleils on March 12 when Dyck Spacee steps into Vancouver Improv Fight Club!

Dyck Spacee – represented by Montana Rosalle, Lorene Stuart, Rachelle Lachland, Deb Sears and Holly Taylor – is a Vancouver-based ensemble who formed to perform DYCK SPACEE: A Spy-Fi Improvised Radio Play at the 2018 Vancouver Fringe.  Following a successful 10-show Fringe run, the group has performed at various events around the city, and is now very pleased to perform “unplugged” at Vancouver Improv Fight Club.

Dyck Spacee will take on Dan Willows, Jalen Saip, Claire Pollock, Kia Rae, and Jeff Cooper for the #HardcoreHilarity title! The teams will battle it out with games and longform, with challenges by Referee Brad Duffy and scores issued by our audience judges!

Come get your laugh fix on Tuesday, March 12 at Cafe Deux Soleils! Doors at 7:30 pm, action starts at 8 pm. Tickets just $7 or $5 for students.
