The Fictionals bring Impro Allegro to East Van Community Music School’s Spring Benefit on May 5

Strike up the band and get ready for a good time! The Fictionals are honoured to be a part of East Vancouver Community Music School‘s inaugural Spring Benefit Concert on May 5 at the Unitarian Church.

East Vancouver Community Music School

The EVCMS has offered a diverse range of music lessons, classes, and community outreach opportunities since 2008, and has grown each year with new talented students and teachers. The goal of the Spring Benefit Concert is to raise money for students from low-income households to pursue a musical education.

The event will showcase the dedicated EVCMS faculty: Kathy Bjorseth, Shifra Day, Marie Calvert Haslett, Ruth Cornish, Bonnie Dodds, and Clara Shandler (a.k.a. the Sidewalk Cellist). Also on the bill are local clarinet legend Francois Houle, The Fictionals’s Impro Allegro set with Daniel Chai, Dan Dumsha, Jennifer Pielak and Brad Rossington, and The Ruffled Feathers for an evening of art, comedy, music and surprises.

Festivities start at 7 pm on Friday, May 5 at Unitarian Church (949 West 49th Ave). Tickets start at just $10 for students, seniors and artists, with sponsorship and family packs available. Come enjoy comedy and music for a cause!
