Improv X Literature on January 24 pays tribute to Vancouver’s Little Free Libraries!

Building community, sparking creativity and inspiring readers! We’re big fans of Little Free Libraries you see in your neighbourhood, and on January 24 we pay tribute with Improv X Literature aka By The Book!

The first Little Free Library was built by Todd Bol of Hudson, Wisconsin. The model of a one-room schoolhouse was a tribute to his mother, a teacher who loved to read. There are over 50,000 Little Free Libraries, each unique and sharing the theme of exchanging good books and bringing people together.

Vancouver has dozens of Little Free Libraries, filled with novels, magazines, and children’s books looking for good homes! Each are lovingly maintained by book lovers, and restocked by readers looking to pass along a good stoy. We visited a few this past week to collect some fun books to share at Cafe Deux Soleils. Maybe they will find a new home during the show too!

Whether you’re a longtime bibliophile or looking for something to read on the Skytrain, join us on January 24 for Improv X Literature! Doors at 7:30 pm, show at 8:00 pm, and tickets just $7 or $5 for students! More info on Hot Improv Tuesdays here!
