After many long nights of Dropping a chandelier on our enemies and riding the rope up, and busy days filled with Flying Sex Snakes, we are finally ready to bring the hit party game Cards Against Humanity (CAH) to life! Yes, we are talking about the world-debut of Improv Against Humanity (IAH) tomorrow night (November 20th) at Cafe Deux Soleils in Vancouver!
What does this all mean? The Fictionals will be performing just a few of the infinite hilarious card combinations of CAH while getting YOU (well, 14 of you) to play the game for a chance to win some awesome prizes!
The IAH rules differ a little CAH. Here’s how our version works:
There will be two Halves of IAH where seven randomly-drawn audience members will be chosen to play the card game.
To start the game, each player draws seven white “answer” cards. One randomly chosen player begins as the Card Czar, and plays a black “question” card. The Card Czar reads the question out to the group. Each player answers the question by passing one white “answer” card, face down, to the Card Czar (they will have seven seconds to do so). The Card Czar shuffles all of the answers, then will hand the cards to the show host onstage who will read them out loud in a humorous fashion. The Card Czar will then pick their favorite, and whoever played that answer gets to keep the Black Card as one Awesome Point. After each round, a new player becomes the Card Czar, and every player draws back up to seven cards.
At the end of the seven rounds, the person with the most Awesome Points wins that round. Tie-breakers to be decided with an overtime round judged by the audience!
The Fictionals and our special guests from Vancouver TheatreSports League will bring to life the winning card combination after each round with improv comedy! But the fun doesn’t stop there!
At the end of the second half, we will go into the Final Round, where the winners of the first and second half will compete in a best-out-of-five IAH match judged entirely by the audience. Seven cards, seven seconds to make a choice – are you up for the challenge?
If you are, you’ll have a chance at winning your very own Cards Against Humanity set, along with being crownd the MOST HORRIBLE PERSON IN VANCOUVER! We have other amazing prizes from The Connection Games and Comics, The Fictionals, and Cafe Deux Soleils to give away too!
If this sounds like the best invention since Michelle Obama’s arms, then come down to Cafe Deux Soleils tomorrow night. Doors at 7pm, show at 8pm. Tickets just $5 at the door.
There are a very limited amount of tickets available at the door for tomorrow’s show. Please arrive as close to 7pm as possible to try and snag a ticket. Once they are gone, they are gone!
Have a horrible day!
