Five reasons to come watch Vancouver Improv Fight Club: Off Key vs BellingHAMLET

Tomorrow night at Cafe Deux Soleils, Vancouver Improv Fight Club is proud to present world-class improv action, courtesy of Off Key and BellingHAMLET. If you need an excuse to come enjoy a night of hilarious comedy mixed with head-to-head combat, here are five:

1) In the Blue corner is BellingHAMLET, from the hilarious confines of the Upfront Theatre from Bellingham, USA. Represented by Tim Gregor, Sally Unger and James Tweedale, BellingHAMLET perform original improvised plays inspired by the language, themes and innuendos of the great bard, William Shakespeare. Their members have performed at festivals all over North America, and this is their VIFC debut!

2) In the Blue corner are Off Key, a new musical improv group that has been developing for just under two months in Port Coquitlam, Canada, though made up of comedians and musicians with years of exerience. Created by Jennifer Pielak (director) and Peter Abando (musical director), and featuring Alison Chisholm, Brittney Grabill, Mitch Boliszczuk, Matthew Simmons, Richard Meen from Second Storey Theatre, Off Key will create songs based on your suggestions right in front of your eye. VIFC is their first show together!

3) Tomorrow night’s VIFC event will be our second-ever Internation Incident! Last September saw Seoul City Improv from South Korea take on The Fictionals from Canada in a very fun and exciting show. Off Key (Canada) vs BellingHAMLET (USA) promises to be much more of the same action.

4) We will be giving away tickets to our next Fictionals shows: Pop-Up Comedy Jam on Tuesday, July 17th and Show Us Your Wits on Tuesday, July 24th. Fun show + free stuff = awesome!

5) Cafe Deux Soleils serves an excellent selection of cold drinks, including an excellent Sangria. Beat the heat for a few hours and come inside with your friends!

As always, we look forward to sharing laughter with you at Cafe Deux Soleils – 2096 Commercial Drive. Doors @ 7pm, show @ 8pm. Tickets just $5 at the door!

Much love!

~ The Fictionals
